Happy twin room with a balcony

(205 Turkan Khatun, 207 Isfahan Shah, Khatun)

Turkan Khatun

Welcome I am Room 205, where history resonates with resilience. I am Turkan, born into the Qarakhanid Khanate and destined for royalty. And I’m honored to be your room during your stay.

At twelve, I became the chief consort of Sultan Malik Shah I of the Seljuk Empire. Despite court intrigues and challenges, I fought to secure my son’s rightful place on the throne. Though our lives were cut short, our legacy of resilience endures. As you dwell in Room 205, let my story of courage and determination inspire your journey through the rich tapestry of Jerusalem’s past.

Isfahan Shah, Khatun

Welcome I am Room 207. where the echoes of history resonate with the spirit of resilience and generosity. I’m Isfahan Shah Khatun, an emblem of Ottoman tradition. And I’m honored to be your room during your stay.

My life was dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and the betterment of Al-Quds. As a patroness of education, I commissioned the Al-Uthmāniyya Madrasa, a place where scholars could gather and exchange wisdom, enriching the city’s intellectual and cultural life. Following in my mother’s footsteps—who built the Madrasa Al-Khātūniyya—I sought to ensure that future generations would have access to learning. My legacy lives on in these institutions, a reflection of my belief in the power of education and the importance of giving back to the community. As you stay in Room 207, let my spirit of enlightenment and philanthropy inspire you.
