Cozy Family Room
(103 Empress Evdokia, 105 Empress Helena)
Empress Evdokia
Welcome I am Room 103, where devotion and literary brilliance come alive. I am Evdokia, and I’m honored to be your room during your stay. As a young woman, I embraced Christianity and married Theodosius II. My pilgrimage to Palestine in 438 ignited a passion for Jerusalem, where I spent my later years in exile. Here, I translated biblical texts into Homeric verses and authored works on St. Cyprian’s martyrdom.
In Jerusalem, I made lasting contributions by building the Church of Mary, Saint Stephen’s Church, and various hostels, monasteries, and hospitals. My influence also extended to expanding the city’s walls. As you dwell in Room 103, let my legacy inspire your exploration of Jerusalem’s rich history and my enduring contributions to its sacred landscape.
Empress Helena
Welcome I am Room 105, where faith and discovery guide your stay. I am Empress Helena, mother of Constantine the Great, but my legacy goes far beyond that title. I’m honored to be your room during your stay.
I discovered the True Cross, the tomb of Jesus and Golgotha, which led to the construction of the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and other sacred sites. My faith revealed the miraculous power of the nails of Jesus’s crucifixion, which I used to protect my son. As you rest in Room 105, let my story inspire you to explore the sacred history of Jerusalem and the divine discoveries that shaped it.
